The Mint Stint

Mint or pudina is one herb that grows very easily without the use of any special seeds. All you have to do is use the mint stems which have roots on it, push them in the soil in a pot, water and wait till the mint plant eventually flourishes with tiny leaves coming out of the stem. Whenever you want to use the leaves, just snip them from the stem. You don’t have to remove the whole plant from the mud like for coriander or other herbs. Just cut the required quantity, the plant will continue to grow.

More on this Mint Juice

This Mint Juice is one of those many other creations of mine that has fresh mint leaves from my balcony garden. It is simple, nutritious and a super summer cooler apt to beat the sweltering heat and level-up the energy levels instantly. The best combination that there can ever be is that of fresh mint and lemon. Thus, I have added lemon juice in this drink. You can also garnish this Lemon Mint Juice with lemon wedges while serving. The punch from the cumin powder makes it extra awesome.   Since I used jaggery as a sweetener in this Pudina Juice, I did not have the beautiful green color at the end. Using sugar along with lemon juice while preparing will retain the bright green hue in this Juice. My balcony garden is overflowing with mint shrubs most of the times. So, in addition to this juice recipe, I end up making a lot of other beverages like Chaas, Watermelon Juice and Mint Tea. Mint also lends an amazing flavor in salads, chutneys and rice dishes. Some of my favorites include this Fruit Salad, Kachumber Salad, Mint Chutney and Pudina Rice.
